DFG has awarded TU Darmstadt a Research Training Group (Graduiertenkolleg) on "Cooperative, Adaptive and Responsive Monitoring in Mixed Mode Systems" (GKMM) starting Oct. 1, 2006, and with a dedicated international component. This is a joint initiative across multiple departments at TUD (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) and also involves Virginia Tech in the US.
The overall goal of the Graduate Training Group is to explore fundamental issues of data acquisition, distribution, management and cooperative utilization in task oriented mixed mode environments.
For this GKMM, we are soliciting applications for multiple PhD positions/scholarships covering the broad thematic areas of:
A) Sensing/Monitoring in Mixed Mode Systems
B) Foundations of Communication in Mixed Mode Systems
C) Computing & Middleware in Mixed Mode Systems
D) Cooperative Planning and Control
