Industrial Workshop on WSN

Embedded systems, wireless sensor networks and collaborating objects make the advent of new applications and new business scenarios possible. Industry and politics do have recognized the chances and possibilities that come up. Initiatives like ARTEMIS or various project initiatives of the European commission are an evidence of these new and innovative technology paradigms. For instance Call 5 of the 7th Framework Programme will deal with the Engineering of Networked Monitoring and Control Systems with special focus on the foundation of complex systems, collaborating objects and control of large-scale systems.

The WASP project is developing a software platform for WSN applications and the CONET project that is establishing a strong community in the area of Cooperating Objects are inviting you to the Workshop on Wireless Sensor Networks and Cooperating Objects on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in Darmstadt, Germany.

Following the first WASP project that was successfully held in September 2007 this workshop will discuss both business and application models for WSNs and Embedded Systems and technology available and needed for implementing wireless sensor networks and collaborating objects.

This workshop offers a unique possibility to get first-hand-insights into current developments and to get in touch with experts and to discuss potential cooperation and new ideas for business and development. The workshop specially addresses projects of FP6 and FP7 and representatives from industry and small medium enterprises.

High reputed companies and research institutes like Philips Research, Microsoft Innovation Center, SAP, Telecom Italia or the Swedish Institute of Computer Science will talk about their latest achievements in fast moving field of technology.

Jorge Pereira, Principal Scientific Officer form the European Commission will give detailed information about the upcoming Call 5 and the next steps in Artemis.
