Urban Management: Challenges and Solutions

Abstract:
More than half of the world's population lives in cities today, and by 2050, 7 of every 10 people will live in massive urban centers. Rapid urbanization presents cities with complex challenges, from financial, socio-economic and environmental problems to issues involving infrastructure, governance and politics. Cities are looking for technology and support to help them address key challenges. City managers and other stakeholders want to keep populations safe from crime and violence. They want to manage infrastructure and resources, including transportation, energy and utilities, in the best ways possible. They want to guarantee sustainability in the management of land and the environment. The solutions AGT Germany provide to address those challenges are Safe Neighborhood, Smart Building, Smart Grid, Smart Mega Event, and Distributed Environmental Sensing.
