03.07.2013, 15.00h - 16.00h Talk by Martina Brachmann

Martina will present her PhD research topic and thus talk about: "Fault-tolerant, cross-layer protocols for enabling automation control over multi-hop networks".

The talk will take place Wednesday, July 3, at 15:00h, building S2|02, room A102.

22.07.2013, 10.00h - 23.07.2013, 15.00h The Annual GK Workshop

The first main purpose of the workshop is to review each doctoral student's progress whose participation is mandatory. During the annual workshop, the PhD students present the status of their accomplishments and plans for their ongoing research. Also presentations about the status and plans of the joint demonstrators in the GRK will be given. Furthermore, the workshop aims at garnering considerable feedback for growing or new interactions across the GRK.

19.06.2013, 15.00h Talk from Olaf Landsiedel - "Capture at Scale: Ultra-fast Wireless All-to-all Communication"

When: Wednesday, June 19, 2013, 15h

Where: Building S3|02, room A102

Speaker: Olaf Landsiedel, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

Title: Capture at Scale: Ultra-fast Wireless All-to-all Communication

Abstract:

05.06.2013 Talk from Thomas Ploetz "Activity Recognition for Real World Health Scenarios"

Title: Activity Recognition for Real World Health Scenarios

When: Wednesday, 05.06.2013, 15:00h

Activity recognition aims for automatically detecting and analysing (largely human) behaviour thereby focusing on movements, the whereabouts of the person(s) of interest, and their interaction with the environment. With the raise of ubiquitous / pervasive / wearable computing this broader concept of "context aware computing" has become very popular in the recent past.

Team Hector won 1st place in the RoboCup Rescue Robot League in Magdeburg

Congratulations to all team members of the GK's Team Hector for a very impressive performance at RoboCup German Open this weekend in Magdeburg!!

In the RoboCup Rescue Robot League the overall 1st place was achieved with a total score that was like in an own league way ahead of all other teams.

Furthermore, the Best in Class Autonomy Award was won.

10.04.2013, 15.00h Regular GK meeting

We will have two talks scheduled for our GK meeting, one from Javier López, a newly incoming PhD student, and one from Karen Petersen:

Talk from Javier López:

Title: Development of a modular Kalman Filter based sensor fusion algorithm for air vehicles

27.03.2013, 15.00h Regular GK meeting

Talk from: Tsvetoslava Vateva-Gurova:

Topic: Trust (Dependability & Security) Quantification

The problem statement will emphasise on trust issues in a typical Cloud system model. An approach to establish trust in the Cloud ecosystem upon authentication will be presented. The approach involves negotiation and quantitative aggregation of security parameters.
