Further sightseeing and excursion possibilities

The Summer School takes place in a very beautiful and also strategically optimal location for doing further sightseeing. There are many nice places worth visiting around Castle Ebernburg.

For instance, you can start in Koblenz, which is close to Bad Münster (about 1 hour car-drive). Koblenz is an excellent starting point for trips into the fascinating landscape of the Rhine and the Moselle. From here you can take a river cruise up to Mainz, where you can embark on a discovery journey through Old Town. Broad, roomy squares and places, half-timbered houses and Baroque churches give Mainz's historical inner city the well known charming character.

The world heritage Ruedesheim, also located at the Rhine, is definitely worth a visit. You will discover the nice atmosphere of the entire Mid-Rhine: picturesque vineyard landscape, fine wines and culinary delights, many walking trails, the green forest of the Niederwald.

The city of Heidelberg is another great outing because of its world-famous castle, for hosting Germany’s oldest university, for having various lanes steeped in history in the Old Town, and more generally for its modern scientific and economic location with an international reputation and a most lively and varied cultural scene.

The federal state of Baden-Württemberg in the south-west of Germany has many other attractive places of interest. The city of Baden-Baden Baden-Baden, for example, offers many leisure activities in its numerous parks and gardens. You will have splendid views not only of the Rhine, but also of the Black Forest. It can be reached by car within 2 hours.
